Charles A. White papers, 1863-1904.

This collection consists of approximately 175 letters and 19 miscellaneous documents and ephemera. The correspondence consists of letters written to White from U.S. and international colleagues in the fields of geology and paleontology, including James D. Dana (professor of geology and mineralogy, Yale University); Hans Bruno Geinitz (German geologist and director of the Royal Mineralogical and Geological Museum, Dresden); and Giovanni Capellini (professor of geology, Royal University of Bologna). Also included are two of White's published articles (Testing Peat Marshes, 1901, and The Quarry Caves of Jerusalem) and 16 appointment and award certificates.
